WakeMeow

Last updated September 16, 2026

The short version

WakeMeow keeps your alarms, your cats and your morning records on your phone. There is no account, no sign-in and no WakeMeow server. The app makes no network requests of its own. We collect no analytics and use no advertising, crash reporting or tracking SDKs.

Who we are

WakeMeow is published by ClickSpark Software, [registered address], [country].

For any privacy question, or to exercise any of the rights described below, email support@clicksparksoftware.com.

What WakeMeow stores, and where

Everything below is stored only on your phone, in the app's private Application Support folder as plain JSON files, where other apps cannot read it:

  • alarms.json — each alarm's time, repeat days, label, chosen cats, escalation profile, sound, snooze and challenge settings
  • cats.json — each cat's name, look and personality, and how many mornings it has woken you
  • profiles.json — any custom escalation profiles you build
  • history.json — one record per alarm dismissal, holding the date, which cats rang, how many snoozes, how long you took, and how cross the cat got (capped at the most recent 400)
  • preferences.json — sound, haptics, motion, nightstand and default settings

Two small values live in the app's UserDefaults: whether you own Pro or a pack (a cached copy of what the App Store told us), and, in development builds only, a testing override for that.

The system alarms themselves are held by iOS on your behalf through AlarmKit, with the alarm time, a title naming your cat, and a sound. They are removed when you delete or disable the alarm.

iCloud Backup: if you back your phone up, that backup includes this data under the terms of Apple's iCloud Backup. WakeMeow neither creates that backup nor has access to it. Deleting the app removes its storage as well.

What we collect

Nothing. There is no account system, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no attribution, no advertising, no analytics SDK, and no sign-in of any kind.

We do receive aggregate sales reports from Apple, because Apple processes the purchase. Those reports tell us how many copies and unlocks sold in which countries. They do not identify you, and we never see your name, email address or payment details. Apple's own privacy policy governs the purchase itself.

Network

WakeMeow makes no network requests. The only network activity is Apple's own StoreKit fetching prices and confirming purchases when you open the Pro screen, which is between your phone and Apple. There is no setting to turn off because there is nothing to turn off.

Permissions

  • Alarms (AlarmKit). Required for an alarm to ring when the phone is locked or silenced. If you refuse, the app still works as a cat and a nightstand clock, but no alarm can ring, and the home screen says so.
  • Nothing else. No camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, motion or notification permission is requested. The wake-up challenges in this version (maths, hold a button, catch the cat) need none.

Accounts and deletion

There are no accounts, so there is nothing to delete on a server. To remove everything the app holds:

  • Open WakeMeow.
  • Tap the gear icon at the top right of the home screen.
  • Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete all my data.
  • Confirm.

This removes every alarm, cat, custom profile, morning record and setting, and cancels the system alarms. There is no copy anywhere else, so it cannot be undone and we cannot recover it. Deleting the app has the same effect.

Your rights

Data protection law, including the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act, gives you rights over personal data held about you: to access it, correct it, delete it, port it, and object to its processing.

Those rights are satisfied in the app rather than by writing to us, because we hold no personal data about you. Everything is readable in the app, editable in the app, and deletable with the button above. We have nothing to sell or share, and we do not sell or share personal information.

If you believe otherwise, email us and we will answer. You also have the right to complain to your data protection regulator; in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office.

Children

WakeMeow is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone. The app contains no advertising, no social features, no user-generated content shared with anyone else, and no external links other than the ones on its About screen.

Changes to this policy

If WakeMeow ever collects or transmits anything it does not today, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the change will be described here rather than only in the date at the top.

Two changes are foreseeable and worth naming now: a share card you could choose to send from the success screen, which would go through the system share sheet and not through us; and crash reporting, which would send diagnostic data about failures but never your alarms or cats.
