Frequently asked
Why do the taps stop when I lower my wrist?
Haptics play while the app is on the watch screen. When you lower your wrist, watchOS makes the app inactive and drops haptics; the app shows "Wrist down: haptics pause" and keeps count, so the display is right when you look again. Tip: on the watch, Settings → General → Wake Screen → Return to Clock lets the app stay in front for up to an hour.
Why are fast subdivisions not all tapped?
The watch needs about a tenth of a second between taps. Sixteenth notes above about 125 BPM, or eighths above 250, are shown on screen but share a tap. The app tells you the limit for the subdivision you choose.
Does it drift over a long session?
No. Every beat is scheduled from the start of the session, so nothing accumulates. Typical lateness is a few milliseconds, and the About screen shows the measured figure for the current session.
The watch app does not appear.
Install it from the Watch app on your iPhone (My Watch → Available Apps), or search for MetronomeHaptics in the App Store on the watch. The watch app also runs without the iPhone app.
My presets are not on the other device.
Sync happens when both apps have been opened and the devices are connected. Open the app on both; the newer change wins for each item, and deletions carry across.
Siri does not respond.
Siri Shortcuts are part of Pro. Try "Start MetronomeHaptics", "Stop MetronomeHaptics", "Start my running cadence in MetronomeHaptics" or "Start my Warmup preset in MetronomeHaptics".
