FodWise
Email support@clicksparksoftware.com. Please include your FodWise version and your device, both of which are on the About screen (Profile → About FodWise), where there is also a button that starts an email with them already filled in.
Please do not send your food or symptom diary. We do not need it and email is not a good place for health information. If a problem can only be explained with an example, describe it in words — “logging a meal after midnight puts it on the wrong day” tells us everything we need.
Or write to support@clicksparksoftware.com. Replies normally come within two business days.
Frequently asked
Are the portion figures medically accurate?
No, and the app says so. FodWise's food figures are its own illustrative examples, chosen to demonstrate that guidance changes with portion size. They are labelled as sample data inside the app. They are not laboratory measurements, and they should not be used in place of tested values from a clinical source or the advice of a registered dietitian. What FodWise is for is your own diary: logging what you ate and how you felt, seeing how portions stack up within a meal, and running a reintroduction one group at a time.
Can FodWise tell me which food is causing my symptoms?
No, and it will not claim to. It can tell you what appeared in your diary before your more difficult days, which is a pattern rather than a cause. Many things affect gut symptoms that are not food at all — sleep, stress, illness, timing, and the natural variation of a gut on any given week. When there is not enough history to say anything useful, FodWise says so instead of inventing a finding. Early on, that is the honest answer.
Does FodWise replace a dietitian?
No. A low-FODMAP diet is an elimination diet, and it is best done with professional guidance — partly because it works better that way, and partly because it is not meant to be followed indefinitely. FodWise is a diary and a reference, and it is most useful as the thing you bring to an appointment.
Where is my data, and can you see it?
On your device, and no. There is no account, no sign-in and no FodWise server. See the privacy policy.
How do I export or delete everything?
Profile → Export and delete. Export My Data writes your diary to a file and hands it to the share sheet, so you can send it to yourself, save it, or take it to an appointment. Delete All My Data removes every entry, challenge, favourite, scan, shopping item, custom food and setting. There is no copy anywhere else, so this cannot be undone and we cannot recover it for you.
I changed phones and my diary is gone
FodWise stores your diary on the device and has no cloud copy, so it moves only if your phone's own backup moved it — iCloud Backup on iOS, or Android's backup service. If you still have the old phone, export the diary from it before wiping it.
The ingredient scanner is misreading labels
Text recognition happens on your device, and it struggles with the things that would trouble anyone: very small print, curved or crumpled packaging, glare, and low light. It helps to fill the frame with just the ingredients list, hold the packet flat, and avoid a direct reflection. The scanner flags terms worth a second look; it is not a verdict on the product, and it cannot see what is not printed on the label.
My reminder did not arrive
Check that notifications are still allowed for FodWise in your phone's settings, since a system update can reset that. On Android, battery optimisation can also delay or suppress scheduled notifications — allowing FodWise to run unrestricted usually fixes it.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Almost entirely, yes. The food library, the articles, the swaps, the insights, the diary and both scanners all work offline. The only feature that uses the network is looking up a scanned barcode in the Open Food Facts database, and that can be switched off in Profile → Privacy.
Is there a subscription?
No. FodWise is bought once and every feature is included. There are no in-app purchases, no advertising and no subscription.
Reporting something that looks wrong in the data
If a food, swap or article looks wrong, please say so — include the name of the record and what you expected. The dataset revision is on the About screen, and quoting it tells us exactly which version you are looking at.
Accessibility
FodWise supports Dynamic Type and larger text, screen readers, increased contrast and reduced motion, and its layouts are tested at large text sizes. If something is hard to use with an accessibility setting turned on, that is a bug worth reporting, and it will be treated as one.
