About the app
FodWiseLow-FODMAP food and symptom diary
Portions, patterns and your own tolerance
FodWise is a low-FODMAP food and symptom diary built on one idea: FODMAP isn't a matter of good foods and bad foods, because how much you eat, what you eat it with, and your own tolerance all change the answer.
Log meals and how you felt, watch portions stack up within a single meal, and run a reintroduction one group at a time. Everything works offline, nothing needs an account, and your diary never leaves your device unless you export it yourself.

What it does
Portion-aware guidance
Move the slider on any food and the guidance moves with it, showing the amount where a FODMAP group starts to be worth watching and the amount where it becomes notable.
Meal stacking
Several modest portions of foods sharing one FODMAP group can add up to something none would reach alone. FodWise shows the stacking as you build a meal and names the ingredient to make smaller.
Diary and patterns
Log meals and symptoms, and FodWise reports what appeared before your more difficult days, group by group — and says plainly when it does not yet have enough history to say anything.
Reintroduction challenges
Plan a challenge one FODMAP group at a time, log each day's portion, and see the trend afterwards. Skipped days are recorded as skipped rather than counted as good ones.
Offline ingredient and barcode scanning
Photograph an ingredient list and have the terms that matter flagged — inulin, chicory root, the polyols, the many words that mean onion — with the text read on your device.
Learn library and swaps
Sixteen original plain-language articles and fifty-nine practical substitutions, each with the reason it works and the context it applies in.
What this app is, and is not
- FodWise is educational and informational only. It does not diagnose, and it does not replace a doctor or a registered dietitian.
- The app's food figures are its own illustrative examples, labelled as sample data inside the app. They demonstrate how guidance changes with portion size; they are not laboratory measurements.
- FodWise is not affiliated with Monash University and does not reproduce their FODMAP test data.
- FodWise reports what appeared in your diary before a difficult day. That is a pattern, not a cause — many things affect gut symptoms that are not food at all.
